媒體人彭文正多次質疑蔡英文的博士真偽，並到法院提民事訴訟，聲請確認蔡英文的英國倫敦政經學院（ＬＳＥ）論文不存在，台北地方法院認為論文存在與否或蔡英文是否具有博士學位均屬單純事實問題，並非法律關係，沒有受確認判決的法律上利益，提告顯無理由，判彭敗訴。
