一夜之間舊站變成新站固然不容易，但台灣鐵路工程過去亦有一個晚上將舊站換軌至新站的經驗——在最後一班列車通過之後才進行工程，晚間至凌晨進行切割移動鐵軌、電車線，進行測量作業與運轉測試，並在隔日第一班列車通過前完成。
