蔡英文於彰化縣芳苑鄉普天宮受訪時表示，母校倫敦政治經濟學院曾發表聲明，證實她確實於1984年獲得博士學位，也將已她列在傑出校友名單；且她無論任教、任公職或參選都會檢驗她的學經歷，多次的檢驗都沒問題，不知道為什麼賀教授還是要這樣質疑，將會提告，由司法來檢驗。
