越南代表處發聲明表示，詢問過越南政府，並沒有發放免費口罩的政策或規定，甚至仍宣導不鼓勵健康民眾在開放空間戴口罩，只有河內有部分公私單位發免費口罩，但整體而言口罩極缺，民眾不容易買到，一盒外科口罩的價格已經翻漲三倍多。

越南駐台代表處也證實這樣的說法，越南政府部門並沒有通知有統一發放口罩的政策。
