農委會表示，白米無機砷含量國際標準為0.2ppm，台灣米僅被驗出0.14ppm，無奈港方引用嬰幼兒食品原料米標準0.1ppm質疑超標，但檢驗對象非嬰幼兒食品，港方不該任意套用標準。
