萬丹泥火山每年噴發1至3次，噴發地點不定，但多在灣內村或附近村落。萬丹泥火山噴發是因為地底天然氣醞釀到一個程度，通常都會點火加速天然氣釋放，由於貼近皇源聖殿建築物，所以無法點火，只能等待天然氣釋放完。
