鄭文燦補充，警察因為本俸較低，而年改以本俸計算，他認為應該給予現職警察更多保障，例如行政院宣布警察就醫可享受跟榮民一樣的優惠，就是一個很重要的起點。另外，警勤加給從1995年到現在都維持8000多元，20幾年都沒有調整，他認為也可以思考如何調整讓警察同仁得到更多保障。
