1. 據最早的美國國家廣播公司（NBC）報導，美國堅持在決議與聯合聲明中提及「病毒源於中國武漢」，而引發僵局，並沒有提及遭14國投票一致反對。
2. 此前，美國就在各國間散發的各種草案中，試圖加入提及「2019年11月在中國湖北省武漢市爆發的冠狀病毒病（COVID-19）」等語，甚至提出一份草案，鼓勵聯合國借鑒過去的經驗教訓：「特別是從2011年起源於中國廣東省的嚴重急性呼吸系統綜合症（SARS-CoV）冠狀病毒爆發」，這些要求都因中國擁有「聯合國安理會否決權」而碰壁。
