〔記者林明佑／二林鎮〕彰化縣二林鎮一處土雞場爆發禽流感疫情，彰化縣動物防疫所長董孟治表示，8月6日接獲二林鎮一土雞場通報其場內雞隻有異常死亡情形，防疫所立即派員進行移動管制並採樣送畜衛所檢驗，昨(9)日經家衛所確診感染H5N5亞型高病原性禽流感病毒，防疫人員於今(10)日完成全場撲殺清場及消毒工作，計撲殺1萬6,031隻土雞。

彰化縣動物防疫所長董孟治表示，近日氣候高溫炎熱，容易造成家禽熱緊迫而使免疫力下降，養禽業者應落實場內各項軟硬體生物安全措施，切勿使用非法疫苗，並確實維護防鳥措施，以避免家禽與候（野）鳥接觸將病原傳入禽場。
