克拉夫特卸任前發表對台聲明，並錄製7分多鐘談話，稱讚台灣是國際舞台上一股良善力量，民主、經濟繁榮、慷慨且具人道關懷、對國際公共衛生盡責、不遺餘力鼓吹並捍衛人權，卻淪為中華人民共和國排擠、消音、壓迫的目標。台灣遭國際組織與會議排除在外，無法分享寶貴經驗與成就，令人完全無法接受。聯合國所有會員國早該正視台灣有意義參與國際組織的益處，及台灣持續遭排除在外帶來的傷害。
