尿毒症代表腎臟功能喪失，無法排出蛋白質消化後產生的廢棄物、尿酸而讓毒素沉積在體內血液中。但文中所說的食物太甜或是食物太鹹非造成腎臟衰竭的因素，目前腎臟衰竭的主要原因仍為來自糖尿病與高血壓等慢性疾病，提倡健康的飲食是好事，但絕非無地放矢的說怎樣的食物會造成尿毒症。
