軟糖原料當中形成Q彈口感的原料「吉利丁」，又稱明膠，主要來自於動物的骨骼或是皮。吉利丁的英文Gelatin也是出自骨骼的英文Skeleton。素食者別灰心！也有些軟糖是特別用素食的原料取代，例如用鹿角菜膠（Carrageenan）。素食主義者好好閱讀標示還是可以吃軟糖的。
