三層是指醫療口罩，從外而內有防潑濺、過濾及吸收濕氣的功能，對於6μm左右的微粒有90％以上的阻隔效果，醫護人員照護一般病人時，以佩戴外科口罩為原則；民眾當有咳嗽等感冒症狀時，以佩戴此種口罩就醫為宜，依設計可分為綁帶式、一體成形及耳掛式三類。
