基改食物不會「自動」無害，必須依賴制度管控風險。美國有提供溯源(IP)服務的黃豆商，雖然沒有區分基改和非基改作物，仍有自願加入的有機農業計畫，農業部不提供非基改認證，但州政府和私人團體仍會提供相關認證。
