依據我國疾管署、美國CDC、WHO官方資訊，皆表示被疫區寄來的包裹感染COVID-19(俗稱武漢肺炎)的機率極低；目前並無進口貨物能傳染COVID-19的證據或案例。
至於COVID-19的病毒能在貨品表面存活多久？目前尚無相關研究，但以其他冠狀病毒做為參考，有研究顯示SARS的病毒在紙(press paper)上60小時(2.5天)後觀察到其傳染性降低。
