台灣的塑膠廠商澄清，PVC 不是戴奧辛的罪魁禍首。過去焚化爐設備較小型而且溫度較低，會產生戴奧辛，才有發起禁用 PVC 的聲浪，但目前焚化爐設備已經完成改善。
