小豬們不停顫抖的狀況被稱做「先天性痙攣症」或是「先天性震顫」，在中國大陸則常被稱為「仔猪抖抖病」、「跳跳病」等等，而引發先天性痙攣症的原因有很多，像是病毒感染（豬瘟、日本腦炎等等）、遺傳原因、低血糖症、有機磷中毒等等，不過可以肯定的是，先天性痙攣症病發原因不包含謠言所說的萊克多巴胺，當然也不會出現謠言說的「當藥物控制神經系統讓豬不停的動減少肥肉產生」這種情況。
