交通部宣布，從2017年元旦起，白天騎車或開車也得開車燈，而新款的機車也將強制配備一發動引擎就會自動開啟的日行燈或頭燈，否則不得出廠領牌，新款的汽車則將於2018年實施。至於已經領牌在路上跑的舊款車輛，交通部僅希望駕駛人白天開車要開頭燈，不開也不會受罰。
