除了對 64-bit 的支援外，Google 還要求在 2018 年的 8 月前，新的 app 都要對應 Android Oreo 的 API。這不是要求 app 的最低系統要求要提高至 Oreo，但也需要支援這新系統的一些功能；現已上架的 app 則需要在 11 月之前跟進有關要求。另外在 2018 年年初，Google 自己也會開始加入一些安全元數據到 APK，用作認證 app 的來源真實性，
