颱風名字會一直輪，颱風除了編號之外，命名方式是有140個名稱分5組輪流，每年世界氣象組織颱風委員會中都會討論跟檢討，若曾造成重大災害或有爭議的颱風名稱將會被除名。
2006年的凱米颱風，是在7月24日23:45登陸台東成功。2024年凱米颱風則於25日凌晨0點0分於宜蘭南澳登陸。
