Is there a maximum interval
between doses of Moderna
COVID-19 Vaccine?
f
You should administer the second
dose as close as possible to the
recommended interval of 28 days after
dose 1. However, if it is not possible to
follow the recommended interval, you
may schedule the second dose of the
Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine for
administration up to 6 weeks (42
days) after the first dose. There are
currently limited data on effectiveness
of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines
administered beyond this window. If
the second dose is administered after
these intervals, there is no need to
restart the series.
