停等紅燈時，車輛依規定須於停等線後方停等，如果駛至斑馬線才停等，係違反道路交通管理處罰條例第60條第2項第3款，處罰900元。
依照法院之前的判例，如於紅燈狀況下，越過停止線並穿越斑馬線，不論是否停等或穿越，視為闖紅燈，機車處罰新臺幣1800元。
