自2023年3月22日上午8時起，將開放民眾預先在普發現金的官網登記，至少開放6個月。3月27日起則開放所有民眾皆可登記，並於2023年3月28日起開放修改以及查詢登記資料是否正確、符合領取資格等資訊
根據財政部規劃，普發新台幣6000元將採5種領取方式，包括登記入帳、ATM領現、郵局領現、直接入帳、特定偏鄉造冊；發放對象包含國民、駐外人員及眷屬、外籍配偶、持有永久居留證外國人等4大類。
