「船吸效應」在機車往左偏移之前，兩車之間的距離不小，不至於會發生這種現象；但外套反穿、沒有把拉鍊拉起往下滑落時，倒是有可能被機車底下的散熱風扇捲進去，建議民眾騎機車時要留意較長的衣物，如外套、長裙等等。
