假的，這是流傳相當久的錯誤資訊，原圖的背景其實是木瓜樹，而木瓜樹不會長出西瓜，有些情況是木瓜品種長出特別大的木瓜，至於西瓜是生長在田裡的。西瓜是葫蘆科西瓜屬，雙子葉開花植物，形狀像藤蔓，葉子呈羽毛狀。
