1.低收入戶
2.家中有孕婦或65歲以上老人或12歲以下小孩、身心障礙者、原住民
3.住宅為鐵皮屋
4.住宅有裝設鐵窗
5.木造建築物
6.狹小巷弄地區建築物(屋前畫紅線地區)
7.屋齡30年以上
8.住宅式宮廟
9.資源回收用途住宅
10.曾發生火災事故住宅
11.舊式眷村或其他經消防機關認定搶救不易地區之住宅

有意願申請的可以到各地消防隊填寫申請表，數量有限，送完為止

為保障台中市民生命財產安全，台中市政府消防局積極推廣火災警報器，並採購1萬8千具「住宅用火災警報器」供民眾申請免費安裝；優先補助未裝設自動警被設備的舊公寓、弱勢族群居住場所、搶救不易地區建物等對象，消防局已列冊並委由婦宣隊訪視安裝，民眾也可向鄰近分局主動申請，如符合資格即能免費安裝；消防局也鼓勵自行採購安裝，保障居家安全。
