Lupron（Leuprolide）不是專為跨性別者設計的藥物（尚未被 FDA 特別針對此用途核准）
Lupron 在1970年代後期到1980年代初期進入臨床階段，最初的開發重點是針對前列腺癌，利用 Leuprolide 抑制睪固酮，達到「化學去勢」的效果，減緩雄性激素依賴型前列腺癌的惡化。
