人類吃入含有非洲豬瘟病毒的食物，病毒不會經過消化道粘膜進入體內繁殖，在胃酸與消化道酵素作用下，非洲豬瘟病毒絕大多數會被殺死，很難在糞便中檢出非洲豬瘟病毒。
