警方呼籲，雪隧內現今速限為時速90公里，但仍保有10公里寬限值，也就是時速超過100公里才會取締；時速如超過100公里，可依道路交通管理處罰條例，處新台幣3,000元以上罰鍰。 此外，行駛雪隧時若低於最低速限70公里，且同向車道前方50公尺以上沒有其他車輛，可處3,000元至6,000元罰鍰，無取締寬容值。
