不建議隨意使用藥物例如止痛藥acetaminophen，目前沒有針對該病毒的特效藥。搶救重症患者的原理是幫病人維持機體。可能是病人使用某種藥物再加上其他治療，情況有所好轉，但個案不代表普遍有效，和該病人的病重程度、身體素質等有關。
