來台免費治療愛滋，絕不是非本國籍愛滋感染者的選項，台灣比起英國、泰國不僅門檻嚴、藥費高，必須通過5道關卡，獲得合法居留身分、居留滿6個月，因染愛滋被通報列管，且開始治療的頭2年自付藥費，一年約20萬元，並有就醫、治療紀錄後，才能獲得健保給付。
