107年9月，台灣公布修訂之細胞治療特管法，適應症包括慢性缺血性腦中風，有兩項符合的細胞治療技術項目，分別是自體CD34+ selection周邊血幹細胞移植，與自體骨髓間質幹細胞移植，自此腦中風病人將有更多機會接受細胞治療。
