屠檢獸醫師於屠後檢查發現後，通報防檢局基隆分局及動保處，由動保處防疫人員採樣送檢。現場扣留同批21隻雞屠體，採樣3隻送家畜衛生試驗所檢驗，其餘18隻凍存。並通知各縣市動物防疫單位回溯來源場進行後續追蹤調查。27日家衛所檢驗報告結果顯示為H5N2亞型禽流感病毒。凍存18隻屠體判定廢棄，將送化製處理，並加強北市家禽批發市場清潔消毒並停止屠宰淨空24小時等生物安全強化措施。
