英國最新紀錄片揭露，這8名華人全是船上的廉價鍋爐工，紀錄片導演稱華工獲救是因「驚人的自救力」，加上聽不懂英語而不知底層船員需留船艙的要求。英國導演亞瑟瓊斯（Arthur Jones）拍攝紀錄片《這6人》（The Six），試圖還原6華人的獲救真相。原來他們全是來自香港的鍋爐工，工資僅白人船員的1/5，且8人共享1張三等艙船票。
