國防部鄭重駁斥與事實不符，呼籲媒體應謹守社會公器分寸，公允評價國防事務，切勿再以臆測方式汙名化國軍。有關軍購案均秉「依法行政」原則辦理，依規定完成建案程序，無關任何政治考量。本次美方同意軍售項目，為我國軍爭取多年之重要防衛武器裝備，且M1A2戰車為全新品、比照美軍現役的先進裝備，獲得後有助於強化我國自我防衛能力及維護區域和平穩定。
