不鏽鋼保溫杯不適合裝茶、咖啡、中藥及牛奶，臺北榮民總醫院臨床毒物與職業醫學部主治醫師楊振昌解釋，茶、咖啡、中藥容易有汙垢，若污垢不清洗乾淨，易造成細菌孳生；牛奶則富含蛋白質，牛奶、豆漿等飲品在常溫環境下，放在不鏽鋼容器裡可能讓細菌增長。楊振昌教學，平時喝完馬上清洗，每周使用軟刷搭配檸檬酸等專用洗劑清理一次。
