事實上，影片是蔡去年訪問帛琉時，她在facebook分享的「訪問帛琉心得影片」
蔡英文於影片中已清楚提及事前她不知道吃下的是蝙蝠湯，她初時更以為是雞湯，見上面有一小塊肉，「我一口氣就吃掉，味道還不錯，結果他們說這是吃水果的蝙蝠的肉……我覺得這是發生了甚麼事」，加上蔡英文「誤食」的蝙蝠，是「吃水果」長大，並非被指是新型冠狀病毒肺炎的源頭－野味，所以嚴格來說，這條被挖出的影片算不上是甚麼「黑材料」。
