此為不實數據與假新聞。陳菊12年任內舉債1037億元，卻還債1208億元，也為高雄帶來不少重大建設。高雄先前2800億元債務，當中有1380億元是承接歷任市長和原高雄縣的負債，而陳菊執政期間，前總統馬英九承諾的「補助不會少給」跳票，勞健保補助也沒給，共計有1169億元並無交給陳菊市府。
