目前國家並沒有改國號或是換新台幣的規劃，只要「一個中國原則/政策」還存在，這個政府就不會被認為是台灣的法律上政府，而由於沒有完備「自決」的條件，只改國號同樣也無法讓台灣成為一個國家。
