查證內政部公告，掛失身分證方式如下：
1.上班時間請撥打任一戶政事務所（戶政機關通訊錄）辦理。
2.非上班時間辦理國民身分證掛失，請撥打 1996 內政服務熱線，並請留下電話號碼，以利戶政事務所於次一上班日再次聯繫確認身分，如於掛失後尋獲，請同時告知俾及時撤銷掛失。
