Windyty 是由一位名為 Ivo 的工程師於 2014 年開發，基於開放原始碼專案 Earth，他同時也是一位飛行運動愛好者，因此對於這些自然現象相當熟悉。透過網站能直接獲取某地區氣候資訊，包括風速、溫度、雲層及降雨情形、波浪、降雪、氣壓等等。
