雖然勒索病毒主要出現在電腦用戶上，但只要有連結網路的裝置，都有可能會中毒，安卓(Android)手機遭病毒入侵後，系統會要求用戶付贖金才能解鎖畫面，和電腦用戶的方式相同。蘋果手機iPhone較少案例發生，但勒索病毒也會攻擊「越獄」（JB）過的iPhone，另外，蘋果電腦也可能會被「綁架」。
