無明顯證據指出日本人的肥胖率與碘攝取有關聯,且碘攝取過量亦會造成疾病。
WHO/FAO 食品添加物聯合專家委員會評估了碘的安全性,建議碘的暫定每日最高容許攝入量為每公斤體重 17 μg。
另外,碘的主要來源為食物,除非食鹽中有做添加不然是沒用的。
