環保署回應，若蛋糕本身已有包裝，再附加之裝提塑膠袋才不得免費提供。
環保署呼籲管制對象響應塑膠袋減量政策，不主動詢問消費者是否購買購物用塑膠袋，並鼓勵民眾以生活減廢3招「自備、重複、少用」減少使用一次用的塑膠袋，用實際行動支持環保新運動。
