新冠疫苗上市前，都有經過二／三期人體試驗，證實安全性可以被接受，因此目前國際上認為輝瑞疫苗的安全性是沒問題的。國際間新冠疫苗的研發、製造與分配，是由世界衛生組織、全球疫苗免疫聯盟（GAVI）、流行病防範創新聯盟（CEPI）共同成立「新冠肺炎疫苗全球取得機制（COVAX）」來進行，並不會特別請求購買中國滅活疫苗。
