行政院通過《道路交通管理處罰條例》修正草案，明訂「嚴重超速」定義將趨嚴，由現行超過速限60公里以上，降為超過速限40公里以上就列為嚴重超速，重罰6千到2萬4千元，根據以往取締件數推算，列為嚴重超速的件數恐每年增6萬多件。
