農委會主委陳吉仲解釋，根據衛生福利部食品藥物管理署的禽流感防疫規範，目前台灣只能進口美國、日本、澳洲三國的雞蛋，美日目前都缺蛋，而像越南、中國、印尼等地因蛋雞產育過程有使用疫苗，因此不納入考慮。他3月7日在立法院進一步透露，未來不排除從其他國家進口。
