內政部於2018年12/6部務會報通過「社會秩序維護法」部分條文修正草案，主要賦予假訊息明確定義外，也針對散布不實之事使公眾產生畏懼，訂定相關罰則，以杜絕假訊息氾濫，還給國人獲取正確訊息之權利。修正草案將陳報行政院審查後，儘速送請立法院審議。
