若民眾經常使用沒有清洗的毛巾，除了容易出現皮膚過敏、毛囊炎、落髮等皮膚疾病外，也可能出現陰道感染、下泌尿道感染、甚至再更進一步向上感染，引起腎盂腎炎等上泌尿道感染。而若身上有傷口，自然也可能造成傷口感染，甚至蜂窩性組織炎。若洗完澡身體總還是癢癢的、身體經常出現過敏、感染等情況，建議應檢視自己是否有衛浴清潔問題。
