這張1942年的美國郵票與圖片設計是在1942年的7月7日正式發行，胡佛檔案館的宋子文檔案裡也藏有當時國府外交部長宋子文，在華府白宮與美國總統羅斯福以及美國郵政總局局長沃克共同檢視此張郵票首日封的歷史照片。美方在於鼓舞國民政府的抗戰士氣。
